At the Paula Sparks World Moot on International Law and Animal Rights (WMILAR) — also known as Sparks Moot — we believe law can be a powerful voice for the voiceless.
Founded by Ankita Shanker, WMILAR is the world’s first global platform dedicated to training future lawyers and advocates to defend animal rights. Through moot court competitions, policy negotiation simulations, and training courses, we equip students and young professionals with the skills to promote animal protection within the framework of international law. This December, we’ll be hosting our second global edition at the University of Birmingham, bringing together leading experts, educators, and passionate students from around the world.
But we can’t do it alone. Most of our organisers, trainers, and evaluators volunteer their time — and we’re seeking support to make this event possible.Your contribution will help us by:- Providing honorariums to organisers, trainers, and evaluators- Offering scholarships for students and judges- Delivering inclusive, high-quality events and resources year after year
Every donation, big or small, helps us build a future where animals are protected by justice, not just compassion.Together, let’s create a world where the rights of animals are not only imagined — but truly defended.
