Yoga4Alex offers yoga classes to students living in the Alexandra township of Johannesburg, South Africa. Our yoga classes and support services equip the students with tools to cope with stress and anxiety, thereby enabling them focus in both their studies and daily life. Our yoga programs, mentoring, and support services help Alex's youth to break out of the poverty cycle.

Update in Corona times:
Our seven yoga teachers are hard at work helping school children cope with the stress of not allowed out the home. Via WhatsApp the yoga teachers are doing yoga with at least 50 children.

Many schoolchildren are just sitting doing nothing because the schools have closed completely and no homeschooling is happening in Alex schools. Yoga4Alex is providing data and encouraging school children to at least read during this time. This reading program is being done by the 30 youth and each youth must as least be helping 3 students over the phone with reading.
