Waarom steun aan juist deze school?

Ik heb onlangs de school bezocht en heb met zowel de docenten als de kinderen gesproken. Zij hebben mij de uitbreidingsplannen laten zien door middel van plattegronden. Als deze uitbreidingsplannen werkelijk gerealiseerd kunnen worden, dan zullen maar liefs ieder jaar 100 kinderen extra gebruik kunnen maken van lokaal onderwijs.

De Yamondow Lourn school ligt bij de plaatsen Latrikunda en Dippa Kunda in de regio Serekunda in Gambia.  Een school die, zoals zoveel scholen in Gambia, compleet afhankelijk is van donaties, omdat zij financieel niet in staat is op hun plannen verder te kunnen ontwikkelen. Als wij samen deze school verder kunnen laten groeien,  dan geven wij daarmee heel veel kansen aan kwetsbare en de minst bevoorrechte kinderen. 

Yamundow heeft alleen kunnen investeren in een kleuterschool die al 6 jaar bestaat en heeft  zelf het voortouw al genomen door vijf kinderen in de crèche te sponsoren.

De gemeenschap heeft een basisschool in de buurt nodig om ervoor te zorgen dat de kinderen continuïteit hebben in de fysieke, emotionele, sociale en mentale ontwikkeling. Daarom heeft deze school jouw hulp nodig om de kinderen (2+ tot 15 jaar) van de regio Latrikunda/Dippa Kunda  door middel van het aanbieden van kwaliteitsvol onderwijs. Yamundow heeft de ervaring en inzet om van de school een zelfvoorzienend succes te maken. het enige wat ze nu vooral nodig heeft, zijn donateurs om de bouw van de voorgestelde basisschool te financieren. Alleen GMD 750.000 dalasi, wat ongeveer 14.000 euro is, zal 100 kinderen van Latrikunda en Dippa Kunda naar hun eigen lokale school kunnen brengen.

Why supporting this school?

I recently visited this school and spoke to the teachers and to the children. They showed me the expansion plans through floor plans. If these expansion plans can be realized, every year an additional 100 children will be able to benefit from local education.

The Yamondow Lourn school is situated in the villages Latrikunda and Dippa Kunda in the Serekunda region in The Gambia.  A school which, like many schools in The Gambia, is completely dependent on donations, because they are financially not able to develop their plans further. If we can help this school to grow, we will be giving a lot of opportunities to vulnerable and underprivileged children. 

Yamundow has only been able to invest in a kindergarten that has already existed for 6 years and has personally already taken the lead by sponsoring five children in the nursery.

The community needs an elementary school nearby to ensure that the children have continuity in physical, emotional, social and mental development. Therefore, this school needs your help to provide quality education to the children (2+ to 15 years) of the Latrikunda/Dippa Kunda region. Yamundow has the experience and commitment to make the school a self-sustaining success. The only thing it needs now most of all are donors to fund the construction of the proposed elementary school. Only GMD 750,000 dalasi, which is about 14,000 euros, will enable 100 children from Latrikunda and Dippa Kunda to attend their own local school.
