Help an International Student Pay an Unexpected Medical Bill After a Cycling Accident
Hello, my name is Xinrui Li.I am an international student from Asia currently studying in the Netherlands.
This year, while cycling to my part-time job on a snowy and slippery day, I unfortunately fell from my bike and suffered a serious knee injury. My ligament was torn, and I needed reconstructive surgery and hospital treatment.
The surgery has already been completed, and I am currently recovering. However, I am now facing an unexpected medical bill of approximately €6,500. Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by my insurance, which means I am responsible for paying the full amount myself.
As an international student living abroad, I do not have a stable income or enough savings to cover such a large unexpected expense. I have been trying to support myself through part-time work while continuing my studies, but this accident has created a financial burden that is beyond my current ability to manage.
I am grateful that I was able to receive the necessary medical treatment, and my focus now is on recovery and returning to my studies. The support raised through this fundraiser will be used to help cover the medical costs from this accident and relieve the financial pressure caused by this unexpected situation.
Any support, no matter how small, would mean a lot to me. If you are unable to donate, sharing my story with others would also be greatly appreciated.
Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read my story and for your kindness and support.
