The state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, was hit with a huge storm at the beginning of May. This made the waters rise and flood whole cities. Over 500,000 people had to leave their houses. Because the flooding destroyed crucial infrastructure, basic supplies are missing, like water, food, and fuel.
And that is just the beginning. Only when the waters go down (which will take quite some time), will we have a grasp on the extent of destruction.

Feeling heartbroken to watch our home being destroyed, worried for our loved ones and frustrated about being far away, we - a group of Brazilians living in the Netherlands - decided to help.
We are organizing a fundraising dine in The Hague (19/05) and Groningen (20/05). All the money people spent on the events will be donated to two different Brazilian organizations that are helping, supporting and guiding victims in the affected areas.
If you are not able to come to the event or would like to donate even more to the cause, you are welcome to place your donation here. The proceedings collected here will be entirely reverted to the two organizations at the beginning of June.
If you would like to stay updated on the donation process, make sure to leave your email when placing the donation.
