Dear all,

From 12 to 19 September I will be joining the organization "Because We Carry" in the refugee camp in Lesvos, in order to do my (little) bit to help the people arriving in these camps.

The situation in the camp is harrowing; there is a shortage of food, water, tents & sanitary facilities, and the camp is bursting at the seams. In addition, there is currently an unprecedented heat at the island, making life unbearable.

The refugees in Greece are ordinary people, people like you and me. People fleeing war, oppression, violence and fear. People whose cradle was in the wrong country and who need help to have a shot in life. 

However, a set of hands and a smile, even with the best intentions, are not enough. Funds are required to provide for the so desperately-needed basic needs. That´s why I am asking for your help. 

The costs of the flight and accommodation are at my own expense, so all money raised will go straight to its purpose: helping those arriving on feeble boats on the shore, by handing out dry clothes, deliver baby carriers for the long journey ahead, and supply the often-exhausted people with food. "Because We Carry" (BWC) is doing great work!

I would really appreciate if you would support me/BWC, and thereby the refugees in the camps on Lesvos.
