My name is Khanh Nguyen, I am currently a hospitality international student in the Netherlands. In the journey of pursuing my dream to become a chef and open my own restaurant, I came all the way from Vietnam, my home country to the Netherlands to attend hospitality university. I was doing fine in the first year financially, i was able to get a part time job at a restaurant to live on my own, but covid hit me really hard, being one of the new employee and i cannot speak Dutch very well, i got laid off and since then it has been very hard, i signed up for YoungOnes to try to find jobs for freelancer that speak English, but it is still a struggling. I tried to find other jobs but due to international student law, i am not allowed to work more than 16 hours a week so no places can hire me. Things are getting more and more expensive, tuition fees getting more expensive each year and as an international student, i have to pay quadruple the tuition fees (the original fees is around 2000+/year for European but for other nationalities student it is around 8000+/year) i don't want to depend on my family because my parents at home has a lot going on for them. Now i am on my final year of my study but i lack the funds to pay for my tuition fees, i really don't want to let all of my time in the past years of study go to waste so that why i am here, the ammount i raise for is to pay my tuition fees and help me at least couple months of rent while i actively trying to find a job.
