We Never Thought We'd Have to Ask for HelpWe never imagined we would be in a position where we had to ask strangers for help, but today we have no other choice.On June 4, 2025, my boyfriend suffered a catastrophic workplace accident on only his second day at a new job. He was struck in the head by a forklift attachment, resulting in multiple brain bleedings, a fractured skull, and 30 seizures in just a year. He spent weeks in the hospital fighting for his life.At the time of the accident, I was scheduled to start a new job the following week. Overnight, our entire future changed. Due to complications involving his employer and the insurance process, my boyfriend was left without the financial support we expected during his recovery. With no income coming in, we were suddenly forced to survive on approximately €70 per week while trying to cover rent, food, transportation, and medical expenses.Before asking for help, we did everything we possibly could to get back on our feet. We contacted the relevant authorities, sought every form of assistance available to us, and are currently receiving support from local services. We also have legal proceedings underway regarding the situation surrounding the accident and the financial consequences. We sold almost everything we owned, cut every possible expense, and fought to keep going without asking others for help.Although some assistance eventually became available, it came too late to prevent the financial damage. We accumulated debts, fell behind on essential bills, and are now on the edge of facing eviction. At the same time, my boyfriend continues to recover from a severe traumatic brain injury and fractured skull while dealing with ongoing medical appointments and expenses. We are still struggling to pay the necessary bills, medication, rent and so on.
The funds raised will be used for: Housing and emergency living expenses Outstanding medical and medication costs Essential bills and debt relief Basic necessities while my boyfriend continues his recovery Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to stability, recovery for my boyfriend and one step further away from eviction.

GisterenNieuweGerieke Olthof OrganisatorUPDATE: Helaas is Ian afgelopen zondag weer met spoed naar het ziekenhuis afgevoerd, het was een heftige seizure met veel impact en hij leek steeds slechter te worden. Momenteel is hij stabiel, maar helaas is dit de 3e seizure van de afgelopen 3,5 maanden.
Gelukkig hebben we goede neurologische experts die verdere behandelingen en onderzoeken gaan plannen. Na een lange periode van onbegrip, stress en vraagtekens wordt er nu eindelijk een traject van onderzoeken gestart met specialisten.
we zijn iedereen harstikke dankbaar die gedoneerd heeft, mocht je nog willen doneren voor de komende periode vol medische kosten en ziekenhuis bezoeken zijn we ontzettend dankbaar.
