Urgent Lifeline: Food, Shelter & Safety for Displaced Families of Fouaa and Kefraya, Syria
"We are launching this urgent appeal on behalf of the exhausted and forgotten displaced families from Fouaa and Kefraya in Syria. These communities endured years of brutal siege, culminating in their forced displacement in 2017. They were uprooted from their homes, losing everything they owned—their land, their possessions, and their very sense of security. Seven years later, they still cannot return and remain displaced."
"The ordeal did not end there. As a vulnerable minority, many families were forced to relocate repeatedly. During the recent escalating crises in Syria, a significant portion of these families were forced to move again from temporary homes in cities like Aleppo and Damascus and seek refuge in areas around Latakia. This second wave of displacement meant losing the few belongings they had managed to gather, leaving them once more with absolutely nothing."
"Today, these families—whose numbers are tragically very large—are scattered across temporary, ill-equipped settlements. Job opportunities are non-existent, and economic conditions are crushing. They have no means to secure food or medicine. Their historical trauma as a besieged and repeatedly displaced minority only deepens their vulnerability as they face the coming harsh winter."
"Our initial goal for this emergency first phase campaign is to raise €50,000 to provide immediate and sustainable relief to 50 of the most vulnerable families over the next three months (November, December, and January). Every cent will be allocated to:
* €25,000 for Food Security: Purchasing and distributing 150 essential food baskets (rice, flour, oil, sugar) to ensure three meals a day.
* €15,000 for Emergency Shelter/Rent: Covering the rent for basic, dry shelter in Latakia's surrounding areas, or purchasing necessary winter supplies like blankets and mattresses.
* €10,000 for Medical & Heating Needs: Providing essential first-aid supplies and fuel for heating during the coldest months."
"Due to the tragically high number of displaced families, the success of this urgent first campaign is vital. Achieving this initial €50,000 goal will allow us to immediately launch follow-up campaigns to cover the broader and long-term needs of this severely affected population.
Please, do not let their seven years of suffering and multiple displacements turn into a tragic winter. Your donation is not just money; it is a lifeline, a meal, and a moment of warmth for a family who has only known fear and loss. Thank you for being their hope."
