Hello! I'm Vikki, an Early Years Teaching Assitant at an International Junior School in The Netherlands. On behalf of Together International (TI), an NGO dedicated to Development and Relief Aid projects, I will be travelling to Iskenderun, Turkey, in April as part of our mission to provide relief aid and educational support to the communities affected by the recent earthquakes. Money collected from this crowdfunding campaign will be a huge help to me reaching my goal of being part of this mission.

As a volunteer of TI Netherlands for over a year,  I have been an active part of many humanitarian missions and donation campaigns; helping with several projects including working with the food bank in The Hague to support the local and international communities, fundraising and assisting people in the Ukraine crisis and working on campaigns to help those affected by the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

During the upcoming Easter holidays, on my half term break, I will be travelling to TI’s community centres in Iskenderun to assist in this project on the ground. There I will be building and managing community camps and centres, running children's educational and activity clubs, teaching and providing relevant support.

I feel deeply affected by the recent tragic situation and hope I can bring some relief, help, love, security and maybe even laughter and fun in this difficult time. Everyone has the right to safety, education, health and security. As an early years educator and support worker for people with learning disabilities, I am passionate about providing inclusive and accessible care for everyone and ensuring every voice is heard. I hope that I can make even a little difference. 

TI has established a series of Community Centres in affected areas in Iskenderun, providing relevant services to the population, such as psychological and educational support, following the community healing approach. We have also been selected as camp managers of a new camp that will host 4000 people. I will be travelling to Iskenderun independently where I will join a team of professionals and volunteers from TI Portugal, Spain and The Netherlands to assist in this relief mission.
