Lesbos heeft het na vele crises extra zwaar. Dit jaar zijn er meer zwerfdieren dan ooit omdat veel bewoners zijn weggetrokken. Lieve lokale vrijwilligers die het zelf nauwelijks redden vangen ze op en zorgen voor sterilisatie van de dieren. Dat gebeurt in het programma PAN, the animal welfare group of Lesvos.
Ik heb ze bezocht en was erg onder de indruk. Ze leggen ook alles wat ze doen vast. Het zijn echt helden!

Lesbos has had many crises, but tourism collapsing is total drama. There are so many stray cats and dogs now and the people there can't help them without our help.
I met the volunteers working in local initiative PAN and was impressed with their caretaking and sterilisation program. They also document everything they do. The money goes straight to them. They are true heroes!
